About
This site was made by me - Jack Burgess - a senior software engineer from the UK. I sometimes write about tech, so if you fancy, check out my website.
This is a site to help you collect circulating UK coins. I did it because I was very, very bored. I also wanted something (else) to collect! I normally only collect banknotes, but my coin club convinced me to get into coinage - and circulating coins are cheap!
This site is free to use - and will remain free to use, for as long as the hosting costs allow me to. It’s currently hosted on a free platform - CloudFlare Pages, if you’re wondering - so I don’t expect it to actually cost me anything for a seriously long time.
You should know some things about this site:
It assumes you’re only collecting one of each date. If you have more than that, it will be interacting (showing, updating, deleting, etc) with the first one returned from Numista. Some testing reveals this to be the first one you added to the site, but there’s no guarantee with that.
I have to say it - you are using this site at your own risk, and I am not responsible if it clears the wrong coin from your collection. I use it exclusively for mine and my use, and have not had any problems.
Does not include years where no general circulation coins produced (i.e. only proof/BU sets). These years are omitted entirely for brevity.
Does not include commemorative/variations of 10p/50p/£2
Does not include demonetised decimals:
5p large variant (1985-1990)
10p large variant (1968-1981)
50p large variant (1969-1984)
£1 round pound
If you’re feeling generous, you can buy me a coffee (or buy me a coin) using the link. I make no guarantees I won’t spend it on a banknote!
